RE: ELECTRIC FENCING FOR DOGS

Electric fences are not recommended for dogs. It would definitely harm your dog and there are chances that your dog might go mad by a mild shock (imagine a Rottweiler )

Electric fences are generally meant for horses and not dogs. You can either construct a chain link fence or a wooden fence to avoid your dog being hurt.

Why isnt it working?

Hi all..hoping I can get an answer here...Im totally lost. Have an electric fance for my horses...we use the electric rope...we splice on regular fence wire to bring into the barn and attach to the charger. The ground wire is electric fence wire totally. Everything worked great last year, lots of juice...winter came and I usually have fence problems then so I didnt even bother to check it until a couple of weeks ago...everything is connected, nothing is on the fence anywhere, nothing has changed set up wise since last year...plenty of juice coming from the charger when tested, but nothing at all in the fence and this includes right where the wire comes off the charger post...any ideas Im lost
Thanks in advance folks.

Testing problems/fence problems

Hi,
I recently bought the thunderbird 4 light volt tester. When testing the fence if I connect the bull clip directly to the earth wire it rates the voltage at max, however if I connect the bull clip to the earth stake it only rates up to poor. Im assuming that connecting it to the earth stake is actually giving the correct reading ie poor???

Also, how deep should the 1m earth stake be in the ground? I currently have it most of the way, however the ground is dry, rocky and poor quality.
Thanks for your time,
Tim
PS I am using electric tape and thunderbird solar
